All About the OHS

Believe it or not, at the OHS we help over 11,000 animals each year! Which animals do we have? Cats RULE, of course! They are the most popular pet here. But we also have amazing dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, hamsters, gerbils, rats, mice, and degus!

Why do we have so many animals?

There are different reasons. Some get lost and are brought to us by the public or City of Ottawa bylaw officers. Others are given up by their owners. Sadly, animals also end up here because people don't treat them with kindness. All animals deserve LOVE, don't you think? That's why we give them a second chance at happiness!
