Animal Rescue

The Ottawa Humane Society responds to calls about animals in trouble and provides emergency rescues for sick and hurt animals within Ottawa. Here are some of the things our agents to do help animals:

  • Removing a dog trapped in a hot car on a warm day
  • Rescuing a kitten found frozen in a snowbank
  • Helping a mother duck and her ducklings trapped in a sewer
  • Freeing a raccoon who had its paw stuck in a bird feeder

Our animal rescue agents are kept busy responding to calls from very early in the morning to late at night, every day of the year! You can learn more about their important work in our animal careers section.
